Here is a recent observation…people don’t use AI at the level they should.
To date, I am at 542 hours of training this year. Every training program I facilitate contains AI content, exercises, and best practices. As I begin each new series, I am still surprised that people are using AI in the most basic ways. What is our goal with all this AI content? To get you to use and understand AI at a higher level. The purpose of this blog? To get you to use and understand AI at a higher level.
Don’t get me wrong, using AI to craft emails, check grammar and create social media posts is great, but honestly, we are just scratching the AI surface with those actions.
So here are some things you can do today to up your AI game!
Recruiters! Here are some goodies for you.
Tired of getting ghosted? Ask AI to act as a candidate who ghosted you. Have a frank conversation where you simply ask, “Why did you ghost me?” You might just identify some “blind spots” in your communication and follow-up process.
Provide AI with two different job postings and ask which will attract more qualified applicants and why.
Got a challenging coaching conversation coming up? Practice with AI. I remember the first time I had to counsel someone on their hygiene. Oof! That was a tough one and I would have loved to have been able to practice that conversation before I had it.
Salespeople and Account Managers, here are some thoughts for you.
Gather local wage and market data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and ask AI to share how average pay rates have changed for a role. Then you can share that information with your client who might be underpaying their employees.
Share your customer’s website with AI. Next, ask AI to generate some topics, news events, or trends that might be impacting them. Finally, ask AI to generate 20 “conversation starter” questions you can ask your customer based on those results.
Run a “what if” revenue simulation. Try out this prompt and see where the conversation goes with your AI tool.
“I want to understand how improving my fill rate by 10% could impact my overall revenue. Before we run any numbers, please tell me exactly what data or metrics you’d need from me to build an accurate simulation.
Assume I work in temporary staffing and manage multiple clients with different bill rates, order volumes, and fill percentages. What information should I gather to help you model the impact clearly?”
Leaders, I have not forgotten about you…
Dictate or upload your notes from your last branch meeting and ask the following: “Turn these branch meeting notes into SMART goals by priority.”
Analyze your team’s metrics to identify coaching opportunities. You can share each team member’s metrics with AI and identify performance trends and who might need additional support.
Audit your team’s communication tone. Simply upload a team member’s emails and ask AI to analyze it and provide suggestions on how that team member could be more empathetic, warm, or professional.
That should get you started, and if you want more ideas, ask AI to provide you with additional ways in which you can use AI to work smarter NOT harder.
Need help in using any of these ideas? Ask AI to help you.
